Our bakery is in Victoria, Texas.  A town of 65,000 people located 120 miles from a major city.  We have always played the cherry picking game by pitting one supplier against another to get the best prices.  This is time consuming, but effective.  Or so we thought.  When Bart Beilman said he could achieve great savings, I was slightly skeptical and told him as much.  Hey, what do we have to lose?

The new agreements start Jan 1, 2002.  The estimated results are astonishing with over $30,000 in projected savings per year.  If even a portion of this savings materializes, it will be substantial. We have a better supplier for bakery supplies and a better supplier for food service supplies.  Those companies are very happy to not be cherry picked to death and love the bigger orders.  Everyone wins. 

Could we have done this without BCG?  The answer is no.  Their expertise was invaluable.
